We were down for 10 days. We never heard from CDK other than the boilerplate announcements and emails from corporate. They didn't send us an email to tell us we'd be back on. Just on day 11 it worked again.
-
Pros
Manufacturer integration and the ability for it to be a "one stop shop". They have tons of features and products.
-
Cons
Help when you need it is sorely lacking. Either they don't have enough people or motivated ones. This is my impression BEFORE the hack and 10 day outage. I do not feel valued as a customer at all, and we spend plenty.

Don't do it there are better options CDK has terrible support & charge an arm & a leg for that support & the system has not changed or evolved over time. It's a monopoly because it's A necessary evil that dealers must have and they know it and take advantage of that

-
Pros

-
Cons
Poor customer service & poor onsite dealership training. They want to do virtual training & take path of least résistance. Get out into dealerships & train our people; otherwise you will loose a long term customer

Antiquated software and expensive for what you get. However, it's like your drunk Uncle at Thanksgiving; a pain-in-the-ass but you'll miss him when he's gone. Until this current ransomware attack, the good thing CDK had going for it was that it was dependable.

Every update makes the system more buggy.
-
Pros
It's well established, so transfer employees are usually familiar.
-
Cons
Poor customer support. Base support is outsourced obviously, they read from same manuals we do before we'd even call them. There are a ton of bugs and feature requests that don't get implemented. They are trying to push new "features" that just make the system more clunky and difficult to use.
