Dealertrack Technologies
Vendor Info
History
The company has a tradition in providing popular stand-alone applications for Sales and F&I (e.g. Salesmaker Desking, emenu F&I Menu), Digital Marketing (e.g. Dealer.com CRM and Website), and Inventory (e.g. AAX and ECarList). Dealertrack recently announced a major system upgrade of its integrated DMS solution that is only available as SaaS web solution (no onsite server available). With DMS 2.0 the company made major improvements in workflow, ease of use and mobility.

It's archaic. We still have functions that are not turned on or working properly 3 years after we started using the DMS. We had a "Remote" install during COVID.
-
Pros
It hasn't been hacked yet.
-
Cons
Certain Functions or features don't work. It's difficult to pull reports.

DealerTrack is on a older platform, but it gets the job done. The Accounting Department likes it which is the most important factor
-
Pros
It is a very powerful system and capable of doing much more than we are using. Very reasonably priced for smaller organizations.
-
Cons
Reporting system is not as robust as some of its competitors. Have to use their printers which are expensive.

Very basic system, few upgrades over the years. Still using 'work-arounds' for things that should be readily available.
-
Pros
The Help line is excellent
-
Cons
Not as user friendly as it could be. Limited space for ccr's, comments, etc. Many times doesn't reflect Customer Value properly. Doesn't hold the Advisor to the estimate so they can close the RO with to the wrong amount. More time consuming for Advisors and even more for Parts Dept. than Reynolds was.

It's a lower cost DMS, but when you add on all the other products like xTime, Vinsolutions, Doc Management, etc, the prices add up.
-
Pros
Great integrations
-
Cons
Accounts Receivable is not a balance forward, it's open item, and is a pain in the butt. Also, there are a lot of add-on products like xTime for service, that require a different subscription (the integration is good though).
